Internal Urethrotomy<\/span><\/span><\/h2><\/header>

Urethral stricture is a disease of narrowing of the urinary canal due to various conditions (untreated infections, trauma, urogenital surgery, etc.). <\/strong><\/p>\n

The treatment includes both urethral dilatation, which can be performed under local anesthesia with catheters, spark plugs and similar technical equipment, and the procedure called internalurethrotomy, which involves entering the urinary canal endoscopically under spinal or general anesthesia and opening the stenosis with a cold knife or laser energy. <\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition, open surgical operations called urethroplasty may be required if the existing methods are not suitable. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Before the procedure, a contrast examination called urethrography can be performed to evaluate the distance of the stenosis. The procedure takes approximately 20-40 minutes, depending on the degree of stenosis. <\/strong><\/p>\n

After surgery, a catheter is placed in the urinary canal and removed within 1-15 days depending on the need. Hospital stay is 0-1 day in anesthesia. <\/strong><\/p>\n

There is a possibility of recurrence of the disease due to fibrotic wound healing, it should be checked at regular intervals.<\/strong><\/p>\n
