Advanced (Detailed) Pregnancy Ultrasound<\/span><\/span><\/h2><\/header>

Four-dimensional ultrasound and detailed ultrasound, or second level ultrasound, are often confused and used interchangeably. However, while 4-dimensional ultrasound is a modality of the ultrasonography device, that is, a different method is switched to by adjusting the ultrasound, detailed ultrasound is the name of the procedure performed and is usually performed in two dimensions, that is, in black and white. While 4-dimensional ultrasound can be performed at every ultrasound evaluation, detailed ultrasound can be performed at certain weeks (between 18-23 weeks). With detailed ultrasound, all internal organs of the baby, external body structure, genital organs, hands and feet, placenta, the fluid the baby is in, the uterine wall and cervix are examined for any signs of genetic abnormalities. Detailed USG is performed by perinatologists or specially trained and experienced radiologists.<\/p>\n

Ultrasonographic examinations performed at certain weeks of pregnancy provide important data for both the baby and the mother’s health.

Detailed ultrasonography in the early weeks is performed to detect an abnormality that may be present in the baby or for the early detection of a disease that has a risk of development and threatens the baby’s future life, in order to protect the health of the mother and baby.
In advanced gestational weeks, ultrasonographic procedures are performed to evaluate the baby’s blood circulation, to evaluate the baby’s development and to determine the baby’s well-being.<\/p>\n

What is a detailed ultrasound and when is it performed?<\/div>
<\/p>\n

“Detailed Ultrasound” or “Detailed Ultrasound” examination is an examination with high image quality and where all organs of the baby are examined, unlike ultrasound examinations performed during normal pregnancy follow-up.<\/p>\n

Detailed Ultrasound is performed at the following weeks of pregnancy:<\/strong>
11-13. Week (in all pregnant women)
18-23. Week (in all pregnant women)
24 weeks and later (In high-risk pregnancies
11-13, which is considered the first step of detailed examination. The following information about your baby is obtained with the week ultrasound procedure;
Week of baby’s development
Place of residence of the baby’s spouse
The amount of baby’s water
Measuring the thickness of the baby’s nuchal translucency
Examination of the baby’s nasal bone
Basic findings about the baby’s heart structure
First and important information about the baby’s other developmental areas: brain, stomach, kidneys, bladder, abdominal wall, intestines, spine, hands and feet
Color Doppler examination of the baby’s special vascular structures
Assessment of the cervix (cervix)
18-23. Week Detailed Ultrasonography
After a detailed first trimester ultrasound scan, you will be 18-23 weeks pregnant. A second detailed ultrasound examination is performed between the first and second weeks of pregnancy.
Detailed or detailed ultrasonography is among the most important parameters of pregnancy monitoring.
The procedure can take an average of 30-45 minutes due to its structure. This period can sometimes last up to 1 hour and may be repeated in the following days.

24th Week and Above Detailed Ultrasonography
Normally, it is recommended that all pregnancies are examined with detailed ultrasonography at certain weeks.
These procedures are performed at certain weeks of pregnancy. These are;
11-13. week (1st trimester) detailed ultrasonography procedure
18-23. week (2nd trimester) detailed ultrasonographic examination procedure
However, in some cases, it may be necessary to re-examine and re-evaluate the developments seen at later gestational weeks and provide the family with a detailed detailed ultrasonography report.
Sometimes patients may delay the week of detailed ultrasonography for special reasons.
For these and similar reasons, detailed ultrasonography is also performed at later gestational weeks.
Perinatology and High Risk Pregnancies 24. Detailed ultrasonographic examination is also performed for patients presenting at a period of weeks or more.
Color Doppler and Biophysical Profile Review<\/strong>
From the first trimester of pregnancy, if necessary, color Doppler examination can be performed at every week of pregnancy to measure the development of the baby, the state of vascular communication between mother and baby, and the interaction of fetal blood flow in multiple pregnancies.
Color Doppler examination, which is not required in routine pregnancy follow-up, is especially used in high-risk pregnancies.
Some of these situations are as follows;<\/strong>
Conditions with developmental delay
Decreased water in the baby
Impaired circulation in the baby
Evaluation of the baby’s heart function
Decreased movement of the baby in the womb
Fetal placental blood flow characteristics in multiple pregnancies
In such cases, Color Doppler ultrasound is extremely important to assess the condition of the baby in the womb.
Biophysical examination (scoring) is a scoring system made by adding the NST (non stress test) method to the examination of the baby’s tone, breathing, water and movements in the womb.<\/p>\n
