Laparoscopic Ureterolithotomy

Depending on the location of the stone in the urinary tract, the operation is performed using special equipment placed through 3 or 4 1 cm incisions in the side of the body. The stone is removed by reaching the stone and cutting the ureter (urinary canal), a double-j catheter with one end in the kidney and the other end in the bladder can be inserted into the ureter. This area is then repaired using absorbable sutures. A catheter is inserted into the bladder at the beginning of the operation and a drain is placed at the operation site at the end.
